UCLA's Dante Moore to transfer after freshman season
UCLA quarterback Dante Moore is set to enter the transfer portal, the freshman told 247 Sports' Matt Zenitz.
"For these next upcoming years, I just want to go to a place where I can get developed," Moore said. "That's the main thing is really development, making sure you're bettering yourself every day and having a staff around you that's going to help develop you."
Moore was a five-star member of the Bruins' 2023 recruiting class. He started five games during his debut campaign.
The Detroit native was the second-highest-rated passer and No. 2 overall prospect behind USC's Malachi Nelson, according to the ESPN 300. Moore was a huge addition to UCLA's class after initially committing to Oregon.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound passer threw for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions for the Bruins. He also posted a 125.61 quarterback rating.
UCLA finished the season with Ethan Garbers as its starter. Head coach Chip Kelly will likely stick with Garbers but could also look at Collin Schlee, who appeared in six games with one start.
Moore will be eligible at his next destination thanks to the NCAA's policy regarding first-time transfers.
