David Carr shares incredible story of how Lane Kiffin started coaching
Former Fresno State quarterback David Carr was briefly a teammate of Lane Kiffin's in 1997. He also witnessed the start of Kiffin's coaching career and shared the story in an interview with Watch Stadium.
As Carr explained, Kiffin - then a fifth-year player - was upset about losing reps to him (a freshman), so he showed up to his last day of practice in shorts and a T-shirt. Kiffin was ordered off the field by the coaching staff, but returned 30 minutes later in a new role: the Bulldogs' assistant wide receivers coach.

Kiffin took issue with a couple of the details Carr provided, though.
