Riley calls 1st meeting with new AD Moos 'very, very social'
Nebraska has found itself surrounded by rumors and innuendo regarding the state of its athletic department in recent weeks, but it appears head coach Mike Riley and his new superior have started things off on the right foot.
Riley had nothing but positive things to say about the first meeting with newly anointed Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos on Tuesday, according to Sean Callahan of Husker Online, presenting the encounter as one of two long-lost acquaintances.
"It was very, very social," Riley said. "I've known Bill and we've known each other for quite a few years.
"I happened to be in the building around that time because we were doing a recruiting weekend. They called me and actually said he was upstairs in the stadium. I just had a brief meeting with him. Kind of a hello and congratulations meeting. We kind of talked about old times more than the future times."
Moos was officially hired as Nebraska's AD on Sunday, serving in the same capacity at Washington State since 2010.
