NC State without several players vs. Vanderbilt due to COVID-19 protocols
Friday's College World Series game between NC State and Vanderbilt was delayed after several Wolfpack players were put into the COVID-19 protocol, the team announced.
NC State didn't release the names of the players involved, but starting second baseman J.T. Jarrett and left-hander Evan Justice didn't play for health and safety reasons, and the former tested positive for COVID-19, according to ESPN's Ryan McGee.
There were just 13 NC State players active for the contest, according to D1 Baseball's Aaron Fit.

The game, which was originally scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. ET, was bumped to a 3:07 p.m. start because NC State and the NCAA were trying to determine if other Wolfpack players had been affected.

The game is on hold.
We may be looking at a forfeit in Omaha. #CWSOmaha #vandyboys
This was the first COVID-19-related issue at this year's College World Series.
The game was eventually played, and Vanderbilt kept its season alive with a 3-1 win.
