NCAA Game Summary - IPFW at Georgia Tech

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Demarco Cox tallied 13 points and seven rebounds to help the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to a 78-69 decision over the IPFW Mastodons in non-conference play at Hank McCamish Pavilion.

Quinton Stephens added a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards for Georgia Tech (3-0), while Marcus Georges-Hunt netted 13 points and five rebounds before fouling out. Josh Heath also made his mark for the Yellow Jackets, finishing with nine points and seven assists.

IPFW (2-1) suffered its first setback of the 2014-15 campaign despite a solid showing by Steve Forbes, who recorded a double-double with a game-high 17 points and 10 rebounds. Mo Evans chipped in 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor for the visitors.

Georgia Tech scored the opening points of the contest and never looked back. The Yellow Jackets overcame a 2-of-8 performance at the charity stripe in the first half to take a 32-26 lead into the intermission. IPFW was limited to 32.1 percent efficiency from the field in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

Although the Mastodons improved to hit on 55.6 percent of their shots from the floor after the break, Georgia Tech extended its lead by outrebounding the visitors, 20-8, and sinking 60.7 percent of its field goal tries.

The Yellow Jackets dominated on the interior, finishing with a 42-28 advantage in points in the paint and a 43-26 edge in total rebounds.
