Even though Jordan Farmar publicly declared his willingness to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers appear to be interested in acquiring the 27-year-old following the loss of Darren Collison.

The Clippers are in need of a back-up point guard for Chris Paul after Collison agreed to terms with the Sacramento Kings via free agency Thursday, and have indicated an intention to pursue Farmar, according to multiple sources for ESPN Los Angeles.

However, Farmar told Inside the Lakers in May that he preferred to remain with the Lakers following the firing of head coach Mike D'Antoni.

The Lakers have also expressed an interest in Farmar, but are waiting to see how things play out with Steve Nash and other guards on the team.

Although he hopes to stay put, a move down the hall to the Clippers' locker room seems like the next best option for Farmar.

Farmar averaged 10.1 points, 4.9 assists in during an injury-plagued season in which he appeared in only 41 games for the Lakers.
