ESPN is set to lay off NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy, The New York Post's Andrew Marchand and Ryan Glasspiegel report.

Former NBAer Jalen Rose of "NBA Countdown" was also laid off, Marchand and Glasspiegel added.

Van Gundy joined the company in 2007 after the Houston Rockets fired him and was part of the three-man booth for the Finals alongside Mike Breen and Mark Jackson.

JJ Redick, Doris Burke, and Richard Jefferson are the most likely candidates to replace Van Gundy on ESPN's top broadcast team.

Van Gundy holds a 430-318 coaching record over 11 seasons split between the New York Knicks and Rockets. Under his guidance, the Knicks reached the 1999 NBA Finals, becoming the first 8-seed in league history to reach the championship series.

The 61-year-old was recently linked to the Dallas Mavericks for a position on Jason Kidd's staff.

Van Gundy and Rose are among 20 on-air personalities ESPN is reportedly expected to lay off on Friday.
