Harden will reportedly wear 'Free Meek' shoes Thursday vs. Celtics
James Harden is using his kicks to show some love for Meek Mill.
The Philadelphia rapper - born Robert Rihmeek Williams - was sentenced to two-to-four years in jail in November for a probation violation. He's since received support from members of the city's sports scene, including 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, who blasted the judge that sentenced him, and center Joel Embiid, who visited Williams in prison.
Now, Houston Rockets guard James Harden, who has apparently visited the incarcerated rapper, is reportedly planning to offer his own public display of support. According to Sports Illustrated's Deantae Prince, Harden will take to the court Thursday against the Boston Celtics wearing black sneakers emblazoned with "Free Meek" in yellow lettering:
The shoes were created by Salvador "Kickstradomis" Amezcua, a Los Angeles native who was also responsible for a number of special edition Christmas sneakers for other NBA stars.
