Heat shut down Whiteside for 1-2 weeks to rehab bone bruise
Hassan Whiteside will now be afforded the time to nurse a lingering knee injury that has been causing him grief since the start of the season.
The Miami Heat announced Thursday that the 28-year-old center will begin a rehab regimen on a bone bruise in his left knee that will take place over the next one-to-two weeks.
The injury initially occurred during the Heat's season opener against the Orlando Magic. Whiteside missed the following five games, with the team going 2-3 during that stretch.
