The Utah Jazz acquired the 13th overall pick from the Denver Nuggets and used it to select Louisville shooting guard Donovan Mitchell.

After a rocky start to his collegiate career, Mitchell improved dramatically during his sophomore campaign, leading the Cardinals in points, 3-pointers, free throws, defensive rebounds, and steals.

A 6-foot-3 guard with a 6-foot-10 wingspan, Mitchell has both the length and quickness necessary to develop into an elite defender at the pro level. On offense, Mitchell's explosive first step and ability to finish at the rim make him an intriguing prospect on both ends of the floor.

While an effective outside shooter, Mitchell will need to continue to develop his 3-point stroke in order to become a truly dangerous threat on the offensive end. Mitchell's court vision and play-making ability must also improve at the pro level.
