Aric Almirola: Crash and DNF at Talladega
Almirola crashed and finished 37th in the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
Several playoff drivers would run into trouble Sunday at Talladega, but Almirola's misfortune was likely the worst. The Stewart Haas Racing veteran would lead 9 laps in the early going and show his typical superspeedway speed to challenge for a Top-5 finish. However, on lap 57 Almirola would get rolled up in a five-car crash on the backstretch. The damage to the No. 10 was pretty significant and Almirola would be retired early with the devastating DNF. It was his third DNF of the season and puts his chances of advancing in the playoffs in jeopardy.
