Bobby Gerhart: Not Racing at Daytona
An eight-time Daytona winner, Gerhart has his Daytona fleet prepped and ready to roll. The ARCA car is ready to put on the truck for pre-season testing and a new NASCAR Gander RV and Outdoors Truck Series entry is ready to roll too. But there is one major change to the plan. Gerhart himself isn't planning on being behind the wheel, arcaracing.com reports.
Analysis:
Gerhart was all set to make his fourth-career truck series start at Daytona in February, but a December heart attack has sidelined those plans. The veteran driver's prognosis for recovery is good as Gerhart caught the heart attack early. However, it remains to be seen when he'll race again. Gerhart has yet to name a replacement driver for his ARCA and truck series Daytona entries.
