Aric Almirola: Crash and DNF at Bristol

Almirola crashed and finished 37th in the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

The day turned south, very quickly for the veteran driver of the No. 10 Ford. Almirola would get caught up in William Bryon's struggles on lap 1 and make contact with the No. 24 Chevrolet. The Stewart Haas Racing veteran would get the worst of the encounter, and the worst damage slamming into the outside wall. Almirola would take the car to pit road, and behind the wall soon after for the remainder of the day. It was his second DNF of the season, and Almirola slides from fifth to ninth in the driver point standings after Bristol.
