William Byron: Fast Texas Practice
Byron was fastest in Happy Hour practice for the Wurth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 189.294 mph.
Analysis:
The Hendrick Motorsports star led a Chevrolet assault on the top of the scoring pylon in this lone practice ahead of pole qualifying at the Texas oval. Byron edged Michael McDowell by one-tenth of a second to lead this session. The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet is yet to really heat up this season but Fort Worth is a good oval for this driver and team. Byron has a high ceiling for Sunday's Wurth 400.
