Alex Bowman: Crash and DNF

Bowman crashed and finished 37th in the Food City 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Analysis:

Bowman's return to action after a four-race absence due to vertigo would not go as planned for the No. 48 team. He'd struggle at the back of the pack to finish 30th in stage 1. On lap 160 Bowman would get collected in a four-car crash that would be set off when Shane van Gisbergen spun out of control and collected other cars. Bowman's No. 48 team would attempt to fix the car behind the wall but it would soon be ruled too significant damage to repair and he'd be hit with the disappointing DNF at Bristol.
