Chase Briscoe: Fifth-Place at Bristol
Briscoe finished fifth in the Food City 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran would have a solid and uneventful day on the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway. Briscoe would start third on the grid and race among the Top 5 all afternoon long in this 500-lap short track battle. He didn't have the speed to grab the lead away from Ryan Blaney nor Kyle Larson but he'd keep close contact with them throughout the race. In the closing laps Briscoe would hold off Todd Gilliland in overtime to grab the strong fifth-place finish in the Food City 500. It was just his second Top 5 of the season.
