Ross Chastain: Crash and DNF at the Brickyard
Chastain crashed and finished 39th in the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Analysis:
The driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet would start near the rear of the field after a poor qualifying effort. Chastain would run into trouble early. On lap 17 Michael McDowell would make contact with the rear of Chastain's car going into turn 1 and he would slide hard into the outside wall. The damage was pretty extensive and he would be done for the day. It was Chastain's third DNF in the last five races.
