Noah Gragson: Signs with Petty GMS for 2023
Gragson will drive the No. 42 Camaro for Petty GMS Motorsports in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis:
This was the ride that had been long rumored that Gragson would be taking over next season. Gragson has proven to be one of the top talents in the Xfinity Series over his three full-time season driving the No. 9 car for JR Motorsports. 2022 has been perhaps his best season yet as he already has three wins and 11 top-five finishes through 21 races. Gragson has also driven in nine Cup Series races this year, with most of the starts coming in the No. 16 car for Kaulig Racing. Petty GMS has shown a fair amount of speed in 2022 with Erik Jones in the No. 43 car, but the No. 42 hasn't run as well with Ty Dillon. The experience that Gragson has gotten this season driving the Next Gen car should help his transition to the Cup Series in 2023.
