Astros' Correa to appear in Roberto Clemente movie
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is still fresh off of winning the American League Rookie of the Year Award, but his latest honor ranks on a bit of a more personal note.
The 21-year-old will make his big-screen debut in a film about Hall of Famer and fellow Puerto Rican legend, Roberto Clemente.
"It's going to be special to be in the movie about a fellow Puerto Rican player, the best right fielder of all time, Roberto Clemente," Correa said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.
Although Correa's role in the movie is still unknown, it's hard to imagine a better choice for the film, especially after the 21-year-old recently referred to the former Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder as his lifelong idol.
Legendary Entertainment will produce the film.
Correa, one of the greatest young stars in baseball, also inked a lucrative five-year endorsement deal with Adidas earlier this week.
