Report: Braves agree to 1-year deal with Bonifacio
Mike DiNovo / USA TODAY Sports
The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a one-year, $1.25-million contract with second baseman/outfielder Emilio Bonifacio, according to a source of FOX Sports' Jon Morosi.
The deal also includes $1 million in incentives.
Bonifacio hit .167/.198/.192 in 47 games for the Chicago White Sox prior to being designated for assignment on Aug. 16. He then caught on with the Chicago Cubs on a minor-league deal.
The 30-year-old will provide some versatility for a rebuilding Braves squad and act as a mentor to some of the younger players.
