The San Diego Padres were expected to make multiple big deals Friday, but made only one minor move as the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline passed.

The Padres received left-handed reliever Marc Rzepczynski from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for outfielder Abraham Almonte, the Indians announced.

Rzepczynski is playing in his eighth major-league season and sixth as a full-time reliever. In 2015, he has a 2-3 record in 45 appearances, while posting his worst ERA (4.43) and WHIP (1.62) since 2010.

Almonte's split his 2015 season between the Padres and Triple-A El Paso. In the majors, he has a career-worst slash line of .204/.271/.259. The 26-year-old has never played more than 59 games in one season.

It was a surprisingly quiet day in San Diego. Though rumors swirled about the team potentially selling young starters Tyson Ross and Andrew Cashner, outfielder Melvin Upton Jr., and All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel, no deals involving those players ever materialized.
