The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired another veteran arm to help improve what had been one of the league's most inefficient bullpens.
Right-hander Mark Lowe will make his way east from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for left-handers Rob Rasmussen, Nick Wells and Jake Brentz.
Lowe, 32, has posted a 1.00 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 36 innings while collecting 47 strikeouts this season. He's a free agent at the end of the season.
Rasmussen has 12 1/3 major league innings under his belt over the past two seasons but has appeared almost exclusively in Triple-A. In 42 innings with Buffalo this year, the 26-year-old owns a 2.36 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 42 innings.
Wells, who was selected in the third round of the 2014 draft, owns a 4.78 ERA and 1.28 WHIP across 32 innings in Rookie League.
The 20-year-old Brentz was selected in the 11th round of the 2013 draft and owns a 4.09 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across six starts in Rookie League.
