In the last three days, Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos has added the game's premier shortstop and a former Cy Young award winner to his 25-man roster.

And he might just add a left fielder before the trade deadline passes, too.

With roughly five hours to go before Friday's deadline, the Blue Jays remain interested in Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Ben Revere and discussions are heating up, according to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com.

In the midst of an aggressive rebuild, the Phillies have parted ways in recent days with both left-hander Cole Hamels and closer Jonathan Papelbon, with Revere another likely candidate to be shipped elsewhere, as well.

Revere, who remains under team control through 2017, is hitting .298/.334/.374 with 24 stolen bases through 96 games this season, his first as the club's primary left fielder after spending the entirety of 2014 in center. Selected in the first round of the 2007 draft, Revere led the National League in hits last summer and ranks fourth in the majors with 73 steals since the beginning of 2014.

The Blue Jays, meanwhile, have mainly rotated through a number of underwhelming options in left field in 2015 with Michael Saunders confined to the disabled list for much of the season. Chris Colabello, Danny Valencia, and Ezequiel Carrera have received the bulk of the playing time, combining for just 0.8 wins above replacement thus far.
