Orioles reunite with Gibson on 1-year deal reportedly worth $5.25M
The Baltimore Orioles signed right-hander Kyle Gibson to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday.
The deal is worth $5.25 million and includes an additional $1.525 million in performance bonuses, Jon Heyman of The New York Post reports.
Gibson will reportedly earn $150,000 at each of 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24 starts, according to The Baltimore Banner's Andy Kostka.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Gibson needs to go through his version of a full spring training and won't be ready to pitch for the big-league club for a while, according to MLB.com's Jake Rill.
Gibson spent the 2023 campaign with the Orioles, winning 15 games and posting a 4.13 FIP over 192 innings. The 37-year-old played for the St. Louis Cardinals last season, authoring a 4.24 ERA in 30 starts.
The Orioles moved right-hander Kyle Bradish to the 60-day injured list to make room on the 40-man roster for Gibson.
