Listen: Mets radio voice rips Sunday Night Baseball before 1st pitch
Adam Hunger / USA TODAY Sports
Here are some things New York Mets radio voice Howie Rose would probably enjoy more than calling a Sunday night game at Citi Field thanks to ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball picking up the Mets-Dodgers TV broadcast:
- Spending time with his children.
- Taking his dog (does he have a dog?) to the dog park for a nice long stroll.
- Relaxing in the backyard on a nice summer night with a freshly barbecued burger and a beer.
Frankly, there's no shortage of awesome things to do in the New York metropolitan area on a Sunday evening in August. Rose just doesn't think calling a game that was originally scheduled for 1:10 p.m. and is subject to further "ludicrous" delays thanks to a "network stooge" is one of them.
The 63-year-old broadcaster didn't mince words in expressing his displeasure with ESPN during a network-mandated delay just before first pitch.
