Report: Dodgers unwilling to move top prospects; are 'bargain hunting'

The Los Angeles Dodgers may not be the front-runners to make a big splash prior to the trade deadline, after all.

With rumors swirling after a report claimed the Dodgers were confident they'd acquire one of Yu Darvish, Sonny Gray or Justin Verlander before Monday's deadline, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports L.A. is now "bargain hunting" and appear unwilling to part with any of their top prospects.

If such is the case, a trade for one of the aforementioned pitchers seems unlikely.

On Friday, the Rangers reportedly asked the Dodgers to include one of their top two prospects, Walker Buehler and Alex Verdugo, as the starting point of any package for Darvish.

L.A. balked at the idea according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, which could lead the team with the best record in baseball to look elsewhere.

The Dodgers have reportedly been seeking help for their rotation and bullpen and have been linked to others such as Brad Hand, Justin Wilson and Zach Britton.
