World Series trophies damaged during Eddie Vedder concert

While it's nice for teams to include their fans in championship celebrations, letting a recently acquired World Series trophy crowd surf at an Eddie Vedder concert isn't advised.
Mark Shanahan of the Boston Globe reports that the trophy won by the Chicago Cubs in 2016, as well as the Boston Red Sox trophy from 2004, was damaged at Boston's Paradise Rock Club last weekend.
Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein likely immediately regretted passing the trophies through the crowd, though the damages have since been repaired.
