Rangers table extension talks with Lucroy

While his teammate Rougned Odor will be reaping the benefits of a new deal, Texas Rangers backstop Jonathan Lucroy will have to wait.
Though the Rangers held informal talks with Lucroy's agent in December over a new deal, the club has "tabled" those extension negotiations for now, Lucroy told Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram on Saturday.
It's unclear if Odor's reported deal is what interrupted the Rangers' discussions with Lucroy, though the club did also negotiate a one-year extension with backup catcher Robinson Chirinos earlier this week.
Lucroy, who's set to become a free agent following the upcoming season, had his $5.25-million option for 2017 picked up by the Rangers in November.
