Yost gets 'Salvy Splash' from Perez after 1,000th win
The Kansas City Royals clearly love their manager.
Never have the Royals' feelings for Ned Yost been more evident than after their 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox, which gave the veteran skipper 1,000 career wins.
To celebrate Yost's career achievement, catcher Salvador Perez doused his manager with a celebratory postgame bath in a tradition that's been dubbed the "Salvy Splash" in Kansas City. Though it appeared to catch the 62-year-old off guard as he tried to complete a postgame interview, Yost took it all in stride and was sporting a big smile despite suddenly being drenched.

"I had two goals when I started managing. My first was to bring a world championship to a great city," Yost told FOX Sports Kansas City postgame. "And my second goal was to get 1,000 wins.
"It just means that you've been around for a long time, (and) you're associated with great coaches, great front office, great scouts, and great players."
Yost's career managerial record now stands at 1,000-1,044 over 13 years in the dugout. He owns a 543-542 record across seven years with the Royals. Prior to joining Kansas City, he managed the Milwaukee Brewers to 457 wins from 2003 until September of 2008.
Yost is the 62nd manager in baseball history to reach the 1,000-win mark.
