Barcelona forward Neymar shakes off the mumps, could return against Malaga
Barcelona forward Neymar could make his return to the pitch Saturday when the Blaugrana take on Malaga in La Liga play, manager Luis Enrique revealed Friday.
"He seems in very good shape, practically recovered or recovered and in normal condition for a player who was unable to train for almost two weeks," Enrique told reporters. "He is a player who weighs very little, very thin, and he can get back to full fitness very quickly."
The Brazilian sensation has missed a number of games in August as he dealt with the mumps. But, not only is Neymar back and fighting fit, but he's also defying the normal processes of recovery.
"His GPS data in training are among the best in the team and that means he has a chance of participating tomorrow," Enrique continued. "A player with a different physical makeup would practically be ruled out."
Still, while Neymar is showing full fitness, Enrique isn't making definitive proclamations just yet, explaining that "nobody is at 100 percent at this stage" and adding that he'll make the call on Saturday at the Camp Nou.
"He has been training very well and tomorrow we'll see what decision we'll take," Enrique concluded.
