Report: Alexandre Pato eyes Premier League move in January
Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato is interested in a move to the Premier League this January, and a host of Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in the Brazilian, according to Peter O'Rourke of ESPN FC.
The Independent's James Orr also reported about Pato's potential transfer, alleging that Tottenham, Arsenal, and Liverpool have all been alerted to the forward's availability this winter.
The interested English trio could potentially be joined by another rival for his signature, with Pato having previously claimed that Manchester United made an offer for him during the summer transfer window. Given the Red Devils' shyness in front of goal in recent months, it wouldn't be too surprising if Louis van Gaal looked to strengthen his attacking options.
Tottenham, meanwhile, is expected to continue its pursuit for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino in January; if that fails, Pato could be the next in line to partner with Harry Kane up front.
Sources told ESPN FC that Arsenal is an unlikely destination for Pato, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is apparently still undecided on whether or not he'll delve into the transfer market when the window opens in the new year.
Pato, who first rose to prominence as a talented yet injury-prone youngster at AC Milan, has finally been showing his great promise during a two-year loan spell with Sao Paulo, in which he has scored 24 goals. But the 26-year-old's parent club, Corinthians, is apparently keen to offload him once the loan concludes.
