Bournemouth brings in youngster Connor Mahoney from Blackburn
Eddie Howe added Connor Mahoney to his Bournemouth squad on Tuesday following the expiration of his contract at Blackburn Rovers.
The winger, 20, signed a four-year contract at Dean Court. He will cost the Cherries whatever is deemed "satisfactory compensation" for a player first developed by Accrington Stanley, and then Blackburn.
"I think I'm ready to step up and challenge myself," said Mahoney. "I'm a young, hungry player, who wants to attack and get past my man. I like to get fans off their seat and I'm trying to make my way in the game.
"Working with Eddie Howe and his coaching staff will be a dream come true, so to be able to do that day in, day out will get the best out of me."
Mahoney was used sparingly as Blackburn plummeted from the Championship under the turbulent ownership of Indian firm Venky's. He started four matches and appeared 10 times from the bench, with his starring contribution coming when he assisted Tommie Hoban in a nervy 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest in mid-April.
The promising youngster is Bournemouth's fourth signing of the summer transfer window after Asmir Begovic, Nathan Ake, and Jermain Defoe.
