Snodgrass among 6 Hull players to extend deals until 2018
Hull City has extended the contract options of six players until 2018, including Robert Snodgrass amid reports the 29-year-old Scot had rejected fresh terms and was looking to move in January.
The other members of Mike Phelan's squad to lengthen their stays on Humberside are captain Michael Dawson, Abel Hernandez, Jake Livermore, Harry Maguire, and Andy Robertson.
In the news release, the Tigers said they had "exercised" their option to extend the contracts, but Snodgrass' apparent wantaway tactics in recent days made it seem the ball was certainly in the winger's court during negotiations. There is no word on whether the ex-Leeds United man, clearly Hull's standout man this term, received a bulkier pay packet following the agreement.
Each member of this sextet would've been free to discuss terms with other clubs when their contracts entered its final six months in January, with fees unlikely to be received for any player due to none of them being developed by the club.
Hull is currently bottom of the pile in the Premier League with three points between it and safety. Manchester City visits East Yorkshire on Boxing Day.
