The Football Association has charged Norwich City forward Kyle Lafferty for placing a bet on a football match.
The Northern Ireland international is alleged to have taken a punt on a match which occurred on Feb. 20, 2016, a day which saw no commitments for professional British clubs except for Newcastle United, who overcame Norwegian side Lillestrom 2-1 in a friendly meeting.
His misconduct breaches FA Rule E8, which states no player is allowed to gamble on any aspect of a football game.
Lafferty spent a portion of last season on loan at Birmingham City where he made six Championship appearances, troubling the scoresheet on one occasion.
The 54-time Norn Iron representative has until Aug. 5 to respond to the charge.
