Leicester's Ritchie de Laet slated for an unprecedented 2 titles in 1 season
To the victor goes the spoils, and in Ritchie de Laet's case, that may be doubly true this season.
The Leicester City full-back was loaned to Championship side Middlesbrough during the January window, and with his parent club currently sitting eight points clear of second-place Tottenham and Boro joint-top, the Belgian defender could take home two winners' medals in three week's time.
It would be the first time a player has won a Premier League winners' medal and a different English league title in the same campaign.
De Laet, 27, is eligible for a Premier League medal after making 12 appearances for the Foxes, seven more than the minimum of five. The defender has made another nine appearances for Aitor Karanka's second-tier side, where each club is awarded 18 medals to distribute among the squad and can request more as they see fit.
While Leicester's miracle approaches certainty, Boro faces a three-way battle for the Championship title and automatic promotion. With two matches to play, Boro sits joint-top with Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion at 87 points, with the Clarets holding a one-goal advantage over de Laet's lot.
