After starring in this year's Grey Cup, DeVier Posey has decided to take his talents south of the border once again.

The Toronto Argonauts announced Friday they have released the 2017 Grey Cup MVP to pursue an opportunity in the NFL.

Posey's opportunity in the NFL will reportedly come in Baltimore, as TSN's Farhan Lalji reports the Ravens have inked the wideout to a futures contract.

Posey spent two seasons wearing the Double Blue, but his breakout campaign in the CFL came in 2017. Over 12 regular-season games, the former Ohio State standout hauled in 52 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming one of quarterback Ricky Ray's primary targets. He also scored touchdowns in both of the Argos' postseason games.

It was in the snow at TD Place in Ottawa where the 27-year-old became a star. Posey made seven catches for 175 yards in the Grey Cup and hooked up with Ray for a 100-yard touchdown reception that was the longest passing play in Grey Cup history. His record-setting performance led the Argos to their record 17th Grey Cup championship and earned Posey Grey Cup MVP honors.

Posey was a third-round pick (68th overall) of the Houston Texans in 2012. In 26 regular-season appearances with the Texans from 2012-14 he made 22 catches for 272 yards and scored a touchdown during their 2013 divisional playoff loss to the New England Patriots. Later in that same playoff game, Posey ruptured his Achilles tendon, an injury that ultimately derailed his NFL career.

Posey also spent time on the practice rosters of the New York Jets and Denver Broncos in 2016 before signing with Toronto.
