The Montreal Alouettes used a potent fourth quarter ground attack to claim a 30-23 victory over the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night.

Alouettes running back Tyrell Sutton scampered in from 14 yards out and quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. punched in a 1-yard plunge in the final frame to secure the victory.

The Stampeders wasted a strong outing from pivot Bo Levi Mitchell, who threw for 379 yards and a touchdown.

Alouettes quarterback Darian Durant completed 17-of-22 passes on the night, though he was intercepted twice.

Stampeders receiver Kamar Jorden and Als wideout Ernest Jackson both had strong nights, each topping 100 yards receiving.

With the victory, Montreal moves to 2-2 with a matchup looming against the defending Grey Cup champion Ottawa RedBlacks on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Stamps slide to 2-1-1 and will take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders next week.
