Red card district: Lasse Schone rescues point for Ajax with late equaliser vs. 10-man Celtic
In the group stage of the 2013-14 Champions League, Ajax defeated Celtic at Amsterdam ArenA courtesy of a second-half goal from Lasse Schone.
New competition, similar story.
Thursday's high-profile Europa League encounter between the two clubs saw Schone salvage a 2-2 draw for Ajax with an 84th-minute free-kick that found its way through a crowded penalty area and curled into the far side of the net.
Schone had only taken the pitch nine minutes earlier, replacing Viktor Fischer, who had equalised for Ajax in the first half by finishing a phenomenal passing sequence that was eerily reminiscent of the Dutch club's style of play from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Supporters of Celtic won't hesitate to pin the blame on Emilio Izaguirre for the surrendered points. The Honduran left-back was sent off in the 73rd minute, receiving a second yellow card for an idiotic tackle on Anwar El Ghazi and paving the way for Ajax's equaliser.
