Bayern Munich and Inter Milan announced the loan agreement that will see Xherdan Shaqiri move from the Bundesliga to the Serie A

Bayern Munich says the Swiss international will sign a contract Friday with Inter, following the completion of a medical.

The agreement between the two sides is a loan deal until the end of the season, with a permanent union taking place in the summer.

The deal is reported to be worth €15 million, according to Alfredo Pedulla of Tutto Mercato Web.

The midfielder struggled to find playing time this season with the German champions, appearing primarily as a substitute in nine Bundesliga matches, and was granted permission to seek a move abroad in November.

He was an important piece to the Switzerland squad that made it to the Round of 16 at the World Cup in Brazil, and should be able to transition easily into an Inter Milan squad that's desperate to turn its season around.  The Nerazzurri currently sit in 11th place with 22 points through 17 matches.

Shaqiri's transfer represents the second significant signing by Inter since the beginning of the January transfer window. The Serie A club agreed to a loan deal with Arsenal for the services of Lukas Podolski on Jan. 5.
