Rafa Benitez: Marek Hamsik is 'priceless'
Napoli manager Rafa Benitez has deemed midfielder Marek Hamsik 'priceless', hailing the Slovakian international as more tactically intelligent than Steven Gerrard.
Via Football Italia, Benitez also took a slight jab Gareth Bale:
“Is Bale worth the €100m Real Madrid paid for him? In this market if you say an outlandish figure then a club comes along and pays it,” Benitez told SportMediaset.
“In that case, I say Hamsik is priceless and is not for sale, because we do not want to lose him."
The former Chelsea boss went on to say that Gonzalo Higuain was included on a list of five potential replacements for Edinson Cavani. Napoli beat out Arsenal to secure the Argentine striker's services for a reported £34.5 million.
