West Ham's done waiting for Carlos Bacca to make up his mind.

The Hammers are ready to end their interest in the AC Milan striker after failing to convince him of a move to east London, sources have told ESPN FC's Peter O'Rourke.

Milan had reportedly accepted West Ham's £26-million bid for Bacca, but the player is apparently only willing to switch clubs for Champions League football.

It's yet another defeat for the Irons, who have searched the continent for a high-profile goal-scorer to lead them through their first season at the Olympic Stadium. Previous targets Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi proved unattainable for Slaven Bilic's side.

West Ham has reportedly approached Toulouse for €10-million-rated striker Wissam Ben Yedder, although nothing has yet developed beyond that.

The future of current strikers Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho also depends on West Ham's ability to snag a new hit man, with both players mooted to depart in the event of a signing.

There were rumours that Bacca had performed a u-turn in this ongoing transfer saga when Milan withdrew the Colombia international from the team's U.S. tour. The Rossoneri explicitly stated, however, the decision to leave out Bacca was for "reasons tied to the transfer market."

Amid all the speculation, including links to Paris Saint-Germain and former club Sevilla, the 29-year-old emphasised that his first choice remains Milan.

"I'm a player with great ambitions and clear objectives. I want to win, I want to play in the Champions League and lift the cup. Milan is not in Europe this year but we can qualify for the next, and if that is the club's goal I would happily stay put," Bacca told reporters two weeks ago.

He scored 18 goals last season as Milan failed to secure a European berth for a second consecutive campaign.
