Carlos Bacca won't be travelling to North America, and it may have something to do with West Ham United's reported interest in the Colombian forward.

On Friday, AC Milan announced that Bacca and Mattia De Sciglio won't be joining the Rossoneri squad for the International Champions Cup, in which the club is scheduled to play Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Chelsea, in the United States of America.

While Milan made it painfully clear that the decision is "not for reasons tied to the transfer market," the announcement comes after Jack Sullivan, the son of West Ham's co-owner, David Sullivan, said the two clubs had agreed to a fee for Bacca. According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, the fee is valued at £26 million.

From Milan's official website:

Milan has decided, on Coach Montella's request, that Carlos Bacca, who returned in Milan last Thursday, and Mattia De Sciglio, arriving the 28th July, will continue their training in Milanello. The same applies for Gianluca Lapadula and Leonel Vangioni. Therefore Bacca and De Sciglio won't be joining the squad for the International Champions Cup in the USA for the above-said reason, and not for reasons tied to the transfer market.

Adding to the drama is a cryptic photo that Bacca uploaded to Instagram on Thursday, in which he appears to be travelling somewhere alongside a caption that talks about "new goals" and "new dreams."

Bacca tallied 18 goals and two assists while appearing in all of Milan's Serie A fixtures last season, and he subsequently represented Colombia at the Copa America Centenario, where he scored the goal that secured third place for Los Cafeteros.

West Ham kicks off its season on July 28, when the Hammers will welcome NK Domzale in the first leg of their tie in the Europa League's second qualifying round.
