HOYLAKE, England (AP) The Molinari brothers were partners in Europe's winning Ryder Cup side in 2010. They teamed up to win the World Cup for Italy at Mission Hills a year earlier.
Now they are together on the British Open leaderboard.
Around 30 minutes after Edoardo Molinari signed for a 4-under 68 in the opening round at Hoylake on Thursday, younger brother Francesco rolled in a 15-feet eagle putt at No. 18 to shoot the same score.
Francesco says ''we were here on Sunday practicing together so I think probably we did a good job.''
Just to maintain the Italian flavor at Royal Liverpool, Matteo Manassero shot 67 to briefly take the lead.
Francesco says ''it's good to see three Italians up there.''
