Garcia's putter in high demand after Masters win

When Sergio Garcia rolled in a 12-footer for birdie to win the 81st Masters on Sunday, it meant he was going to be in high demand - and, it turned out, the TaylorMade Spider Tour putter he used to claim his first major title would be too.
"The putter is so popular right now that orders are absolutely flooding in," said equipment insider Matt Adams of the Golf Channel. "All of the new orders coming in are backordered to meet demand until the end of May."
Garcia only put the putter in his bag the week of the WGC Match Play in March. He isn't the only player who's used it: Dustin Johnson and Jason Day have also featured the new design in competition, and Johnson moved to No. 1 in the world rankings in the last three months.
The Spaniard's poor putting over the years has been directly linked to his inability to win a major championship. On the tough Augusta National greens last week, though, he averaged 1.65 putts per hole.
It's not the first time a Masters win has created high demand for a putter. After Jack Nicklaus' unlikely victory in 1986, MacGregor sold 340,000 more units than expected of its Response ZT 615 model - the one Nicklaus used to win his sixth green jacket.
