No one deserved the Quicken Loans National title more than Billy Hurley III.
The world's 607th-ranked golfer won his first PGA Tour event Sunday on what is essentially his home course, and it was even more significant for the Naval Academy graduate because the event honors the military.
Hurley's father died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound 10 months ago, and the 34-year-old was understandably emotional when he was interviewed after winning the tournament.

"I think your dad's looking down and really proud of you," Ernie Els told Hurley, according to Stephen Whyno of The Associated Press.
