Kyrie: 'Nothing' can stop Team USA from winning gold

Team USA is the favorite to top the podium in Rio. That much is a fact. While the majority of the players were modest about how much more talented they are than their competition at the Summer Games, one American hooper didn't bother to mask his confidence.

Asked at USA Basketball's presser Thursday what could come in the way of his squad's gold medal aspirations, point guard Kyrie Irving replied: "I don't know … nothing. Honestly, that should be our attitude. If things get hard, we should be able to withstand it. And we'll be ready for anything."

The reigning NBA champion isn't just determined to win, either. He wants his team to dominate every single opponent in the tournament, starting with China on Saturday.

"I feel like that should be our expectation every single game," the Cleveland Cavaliers' floor general said. "Not just for everyone else, but for us. We should expect that from one another."

Though Rio marks Irving's first Summer Games, he's excelled on the international stage before, taking home MVP honors at the 2014 Basketball World Cup. He's looking to bring home his first Olympic gold medal while helping his nation capture it for the third consecutive time under coach Mike Krzyzewski.
