'Grandpa Melo' makes several more Snapchat appearances

Carmelo Anthony is only 32 years old, but as the grumpy elder statesman on Team USA, he's been dubbed "Grandpa Melo."

Perhaps it's a nod toward Anthony's experience as he's the only American player ever to play in four Olympics. More than just his outside shooting and scoring prowess, Anthony will be leaned on for his leadership.

But it's far more likely that the New York Knicks power forward earned his nickname from his disapproval of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles." That's when a decidedly unhappy Anthony crossed his arms in stout opposition to a plane full of teammates belting out the lyrics to the timeless piano-accompanied ballad.

Since then, Anthony has turned grumpy defiance into a signature pose in several Snapchat stories captured by Kyrie Irving and Draymond Green.
