Stamkos mired in longest goal drought since 2009
There's not much to "like" about Steven Stamkos' numbers these days.
The Tampa Bay Lightning superstar, who recently caused waves with a social media gaffe, failed to score in Saturday's loss to the Washington Capitals, extending a slump unseen since his sophomore season six years ago.

What's more, the two-time Maurice Richard Trophy winner has recorded only six shots in his past five games, well down from his career average of 3.21 per contest.
"There's no magic potion that you can drink before the game so you can score goals. It's work ethic, playing the right way," Stamkos said post-game.
Stamkos recorded an assist Saturday, bringing his point total to 22 in 30 games (11 goals, 11 assists). He remains on pace for 30 goals and 60 points, but he'll need to start firing the puck on net with more regularity in order to get his numbers back to elite-level status.
