Coyotes' Smith ready to return to lineup Wednesday vs. Ducks
The Arizona Coyotes are primed to receive a big boost to their lineup.
Mike Smith participated in his second consecutive practice with the team Tuesday and said that he's ready to return from a lower-body injury against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.
"I feel good enough that I can play now," Smith said. "Yesterday, I had a good day of practice. Today was that much better. I haven't been off that much that I've lost a step by any means, so I felt good about my two practices."
Smith missed Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets after sustaining the injury against the Montreal Canadiens last week.
The Coyotes assigned goaltender Louis Domingue to Springfield of the American Hockey League on Tuesday, but head coach Dave Tippett did not confirm if Smith would get the starting nod against the Ducks.
The 33-year-old has a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.02 GAA and .904 save percentage this season.
