Red Wings sign Abdelkader to 7-year extension reportedly worth $29.75 million

Justin Abdelkader is going to be in the Motor City for a very long time.
The Detroit Red Wings have signed the forward to a seven-year contract extension worth a reported $29.75 million, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.
Abdelkader, who was primed to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, has spent his entire career with the Red Wings.
The 28-year-old has four goals and three assists in 15 games this season, coming off a 2014-15 campaign that saw him score a career-high 23 goals and 21 assists in 71 games.
